Ten years of Cybersecurity Dialogues in the fast-evolving cyber world must be celebrated.
The Cybersecurity Dialogues in Sibiu are now a reality and came to age.
While we will have a Cybersecurity Dialogues retrospective looking back to the Dialogues first ten years and the ICT evolution since our foundation in 2013, we will have a foresight look to the end of the decade and beyond.
How will the past decade impact on the coming ten years? Did the past predictions become all a reality? The last decade was characterized by a volatile, uncertain, complex and ambiguous (VUCA) environment. Now, we enter a brittle, anxious, non-linear and incomprehensible (BANI) world. As a result, the stakes will be even higher during the next decade.
Join us at the upcoming 10 anniversary edition of the Cybersecurity Dialogues in Sibiu, where we delve into the evolution of the last decade and explore what lies ahead in the coming decade.
Participate and gain valuable insights from industry experts, thought leaders, and innovators as they discuss the ever-changing landscape of cybersecurity and the ever more important digital humanism vision. Discover the latest technologies trends, strategies, and scope in on those foresights that will shape the future of digital security.
The Cybersecurity Dialogues will provide you with a unique opportunity to present your views, to exchange with experts in the field and to improve your expertise.
Cybersecurity in the next decade will entail digital humanism, human rights, democracy, inclusion and diversity.
- AI and Quantum technologies;
- ChatGPT;
- Shortage of qualified personnel, growing distance between humans and technology (growing incompetence towards everyday life technology);
- Human still as weak link;
- Limited minerals and energy resources, essential hardware will be more expensive and rare tensions will arise;
- Higher level of damages from cyberattacks: could severely damage economies, when it reaches 5% of GDP (currently already over 3% in Germany);
- Sovereignty: increasingly unacceptable role of the GAFA and NATU for the democracies.
Don’t miss this opportunity to stay ahead of the curve and ensure your organization’s resilience in the face of emerging threats. Register now to secure your spot at this essential event.
Over the past decade, technology has experienced an unprecedented evolution, revolutionizing the way we live, work, and connect with one another. From the rise of smartphones to the emergence of artificial intelligence, let us embark on a journey through time and explore the key milestones that have defined this transformative era.
In 2010, the world witnessed the birth of the iPad, a device that revolutionized the tablet market and paved the way for a new era of portable computing. This breakthrough innovation set the stage for the exponential growth of mobile technology, enabling us to carry the power of a computer in our pockets.
As we moved forward, the proliferation of social media platforms such as Facebook, Twitter, and Instagram transformed the way we communicate and share information. These new tools and platforms not only connected people across the globe but also gave rise to a new era of digital marketing and influencer culture. And set a framework pushing cybersecurity at the forefront.
The year 2013 marked a significant milestone with the introduction of 3D printing technology. This groundbreaking innovation opened up endless possibilities in manufacturing, healthcare, and even space exploration. The ability to create complex objects with precision and speed has revolutionized various industries, making customization and prototyping more accessible than ever before.
Artificial intelligence emerged as a game-changer in the latter half of the decade. With advancements in machine learning and deep neural networks, AI has permeated various aspects of our lives.
From voice assistants like Siri and Alexa to self-driving cars, AI has become an integral part of our daily routines, enhancing efficiency and transforming industries such as healthcare, finance, and transportation.
The year 2016 witnessed the dawn of virtual reality (VR) and augmented reality (AR), offering immersive experiences that blur the lines between the physical and digital worlds. These technologies have found applications in gaming, education, architecture, and even therapy, providing new avenues for creativity and exploration.
Blockchain technology, most notably popularized by cryptocurrencies like Bitcoin, has disrupted traditional financial systems and introduced the concept of decentralized transactions. Its potential extends beyond finance, with applications in supply chain management, healthcare records, and secure digital identities.
Since 2013, all these new technologies have one thing in common: they rely on internet and on critical infrastructures. The vital necessity for all to be able to rely on a safe environment is as much an evidence as an immense challenge.
A new decade for The Cybersecurity Dialogues in Sibiu.
As we stand on the cusp of a new decade for The Cybersecurity Dialogues in Sibiu, the future of technology holds even more promise, but also contain multiple risks. Emerging technologies such as quantum computing, Internet of Things (IoT), and 5G connectivity are poised to reshape our world in ways we can only begin to imagine.
In the ever-evolving landscape of technology, the next decade will hold immense potential for groundbreaking advancements that will shape our lives in unprecedented ways. The integration of AI and ML will continue to revolutionize various industries. From autonomous vehicles and smart homes to personalized healthcare and virtual assistants, AI will become increasingly embedded in our daily lives, enhancing efficiency and convenience. For example, IoT will expand its reach, connecting an even greater number of devices and enabling seamless communication between them. This interconnectedness will lead to smarter cities, improved energy management, and enhanced automation across industries.
The deployment of 5G networks will unlock lightning-fast internet speeds, enabling real-time communication and powering emerging technologies like augmented reality (AR) and virtual reality (VR). Beyond 5G, we can anticipate the development of even faster and more reliable wireless networks. Blockchain, known for its association with cryptocurrencies, will find applications beyond finance. Its decentralized and secure nature will be leveraged in areas such as supply chain management, healthcare records, and digital identity verification, fostering transparency and trust.
The next decade will witness a significant shift towards renewable energy sources. Advancements in solar, wind, and hydroelectric technologies, coupled with improved energy storage solutions, will accelerate the transition to a sustainable and greener future.
Advancements in biotechnology will revolutionize healthcare, agriculture, and environmental conservation. Gene editing technologies like CRISPR-Cas9 will enable precise modifications to genetic material, offering potential cures for genetic diseases and enhancing crop yields.
Embracing these technologies responsibly and ethically in a cybersecure world will be crucial as we navigate this exciting era of innovation.
