Cybersecurity Expert, ANCOM, ROMANIA
Virgilius Stănciulescu leads the IT and Data Protection work at ANCOM, Romania’s telecoms regulator. He has more than 20 years of experience in IT and communications. He holds a PhD awarded magna cum laude, is a certified ethical hacker, and is an expert in critical-infrastructure security and national-security information management.
His goal is a digital ANCOM with systems that are distributed, interoperable and secure. His key projects include ANCOM’s integrated system for managing the radio spectrum, a critical system for communications in Romania. He speaks often on 5G security and cyber resilience, and has warned that “the next crisis may be a cyber one.”
